Course Description:
This course continues on building skills learned in American Sign Language (ASL) II, adding more complex ASL grammatical features and vocabulary, narratives, and dialogues and use of depictive verbs. The course will include description of general surroundings, appropriate sequencing, temporal aspects and conditionals. Information about the Deaf Community and Deaf Culture will be included.
Student Learning Outcome:
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an increase in competence by developing authentic grammatical,
syntactical and semantical features within discourse.
2. Utilize technology to produce and assess ASL discourse.
3. Discuss and optimize knowledge of key aspects of Deaf Culture and History.
